exocad: Lab-Grade Digital Crown Design, Right in Our West Orange Office

Once your teeth have been scanned with our Shining 3D Aoralscan, the next step in creating a crown, bridge, veneer, or surgical guide is design. At Suburban Essex Dental, we use exocad — the same professional-grade CAD (computer-aided design) software trusted by leading dental laboratories worldwide. The difference is that we run it in-house in West Orange, NJ, which means your restoration is designed by the same team that knows your bite and your goals.

What exocad Lets Us Do

exocad is a powerful 3D dental design platform that gives Dr. Feldman complete control over every aspect of your restoration: shape, size, contacts with neighboring teeth, occlusion, margin fit, and esthetics. We can virtually test how a crown or veneer will look and function before a single piece of material is shaped. For implant cases, exocad lets us design a custom surgical guide directly from your CBCT scan, ensuring the implant lands exactly where it was planned.

Why In-House Design Beats Sending Work Out

When most dental offices need a crown, they send your impression to a remote lab and wait two to three weeks for the result. We design your restoration ourselves, often within the same day. That gives us tight control over quality, faster turnaround, and the ability to fine-tune anything immediately if your bite or smile aesthetics need a tweak.

A Fully Connected Digital Workflow

exocad sits at the heart of our digital dentistry workflow. Aoralscan captures your teeth, exocad designs the restoration, and our SprintRay Pro2 and Formlabs 3B printers produce the finished piece — all without a single physical impression leaving our office.
