New Year’s Resolution, A New You

The dreaded new year’s resolution. We all make them, but how many actually stick to them? Not many, apparently. Yet it doesn’t need to be that way.

Perhaps we are putting too much pressure on ourselves. By setting small goals, ones that are more achievable, you set yourself up for a higher rate of success. So let’s take a deeper look at the new year’s resolutions you can make today that will put some extra gleam in your smile.

When was your last appointment?

Be honest. When was the last time you were in for a cleaning and checkup? Don’t worry, many people don’t stay current on their dental exams, and while we would certainly love it if they did, we know that life happens and we’re all very busy. Still, this means you’ve got an easy new year’s resolution that you can follow through on right away!

Call, make an appointment, and cross this one off your new year’s checklist. For many people, just making that initial appointment is all that’s needed. We know you’ll feel so much better once you leave the office with a mouth feeling so fresh and so clean.

When was the last time you flossed?

Okay, here is another opportunity to be honest. It’s been a while since you flossed, right? Again, you’re not alone. In fact, you’re in good company with a lot of Americans. There’s no reason why we can’t all try to do better, though. Our smile will certainly thank us.

The best way to make sure you take care of the areas between your teeth is to put your floss right next to your toothbrush or bottle of toothpaste. Out of sight, out of mind… so keep it in sight!

Want more suggestions? Cut back on sugar, eat more fruits and vegetables, and… well, we could go on and on! Either way, set some new year’s resolutions that will make your mouth happy.
